If you are a big chocolate lover like me but looking for some healthy alternatives, check out these delicious homemade No-Bake Brownie Bites! These mini energy bites taste like real brownies!
They have an amazing rich chocolate flavor and packed with nuts and coconut. To sweeten it up, I used Medjool dates and a little bit of maple syrup. I also like to use a tablespoon of water, just to keep them moist.
If you like similar healthy mini treats, you may also like my Energy Bites with Dates. And I would definitely try my favorite Chocolate Bourbon Truffles and 3 Ingredient Coconut Truffles.
How to make No-Bake Brownie Bites
These mini treats are so easy and quick to make! All you need is a food processor and 6 ingredients:
- Walnuts
- Almonds
- Medjool Dates
- Unsweetened Shredded Coconut Flakes
- Cocoa Powder
- Maple Syrup
Plus, a little bit of water to keep them moist.
First, I like to put walnuts and almonds in a food processor and grind it until small pieces.
Then add the dates, unsweetened shredded coconut flakes, cocoa powder, water, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt and mix it up again until combined with a texture similar to dough.
To make the balls, you can use a regular spoon or an ice cream scoop (1.5 tablespoon) to scoop the mixture and roll it into balls.
Place them on a plate or in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about an hour before serving.
Enjoy your delicious healthy No-Bake Brownie Bites!

Great formula! I felt water was a little bit of a waste so I omitted water and the maple syrup and instead added a heaping tablespoon of coconut oil. And didn’t have flaked coconut but I did have chipped so I just blitzed it in and it was fine. I just made a batch of these and they are absolutely delicious! And saves you a lot of money too! I buy these or similar, from a local store for 2 euros each! Unbelievable how easy they are to make. Just one question though, what kind of flaked coconut is used? Is it the big flakes one or the one used for rolling cakes and coconut balls for example? Thank you. Keep it up! 🙂

Hi Essie! I’m so glad you liked the recipe. I used grated coconut. You don’t want it to be too big, or it might be too chewy.

Hi there. What do you consider a single serving for these to get to 194 cal? I’m trying to figure out if it’s 1 ball or a few? Thanks so much!

These are so good. My dough didn’t stick well. How are the dates mixed in? Is a blender used? I used a Vitamix to chop the nuts.

Veronika's Kitchen says
Hi Alicia! I chop and mix everything in a food processor. It’s the easier way. If it doesn’t stick well, you might want to add a tablespoon of water, it will help to bind the ingredients and keep them moist. Let me know if that helps!

What can I use to substitute the nuts? I don’t want to take anything away from the consistency of the mixture but wondering if there is something else I have on hand that will work just as well. Can’t wait to try it out!
